A private workshop with Oregon's Poet Laureate, Ellen Waterston. Farm-driven dinners at ōkta, slow morning at Tributary (a Relais & Chateaux hotel). An evening inspired by the vines with Bree Stock of Limited Addition Wines.
What the weekend looks like:
Ellen Waterston — appointed Oregon Poet Laureate by Governor Tina Kotek, author of We Could Die Doing This and Walking the High Desert — leads a private workshop on voice, place, and the discipline of noticing, drawn from her own decades writing Oregon's high desert. Joining her this year is Bree Stock of Limited Addition Wine, bringing her own perspective on land and craft into the weekend's vineyard time.
Co-produced with Kelly Cox, producer and host of PBS's The Original Fare, whose land-to-narrative approach — honed over two decades in the field — shapes every element of the retreat: slow mornings of in-suite writing time, McMinnville's vineyards and farms, and evenings of conversation and dinner at ōkta Cellar and ōkta Farm & Kitchen.
